Rich Franklin, aka 'Ace' gets his nickname from his similar looks to Jim Carrey, but theres no jokes when this man is in the ring! Rich Franklin has fought his way to winning the UFC middleweight title, one in which he still retains.

Rich Franklin's Bio:

Rich Franklin was born on October 5, 1974. In his teenage years his father introduced him to Karate because Rich wanted a competitive sport to try and he wasn't doing very well in the school football team. Rich continued practising throughout school and college and really enjoyed the sport.

Throughout college, Rich Franklin earnd himself a bachelor degree in mathematics, then later a masters degree in education. Rich graduated from college and took a job as a teacher soon after. While all this was happening Rich was still involved in martial arts and was practising as hard as ever.

After being involved in the Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu style of fighting for 10 years, Rich Franklin now holds a brown belt in the sport and bases his MMA fighting style around this style.

Rich Franklin made his debut in the UFC back in 2003 and has not looked back since. He has now given away the teaching, and trains full time as a UFC fighter. Rich currently holds the UFC title in the middleweight division, and after sustaining an injury to his hand, wont be back until around November to defend it.

Rich Franklin is cool, calm and calculating and will fight as hard as it takes to retain his title. Rich is a born again christian and has a firm belief he will continue to perform to his absolute greatest in the years to come!
